Couples Therapy

Research states that couples often wait years before deciding to seek help.  Couples can learn real solutions to build satisfying relationships.

My couples work is largely based on the Gottman Method.  Couples begin with the completion of a Relationship Checkup, which assesses many relationship characteristics including connection, concerns, conflict and shared meaning.   The strengths and challenges identified focus the work on specific intervention tools to engage in more effective types of communication.  Couples ultimately develop the skill-set necessary to promote a comprehensive, satisfying relationship.  Couples will learn to:

  • manage conflict
  • overcome challenges
  • improved ability to communicate and understand one another

Individual Therapy

Everyone experiences emotions that are sometimes difficult to process.  Therapy offers individuals a chance to explore normal issues related to the human experience.  The therapist and client create a partnership/alliance regarding the presenting issue, which leads to personal growth.

Concerns regarding adjustment, balance, and quality of life commonly lead individuals to seek counseling.  Individual sessions provide opportunities for in depth explorations related to needs and challenges.
